Kristen Helms, LCSW-S

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Supervisor in Texas - originally trained at New York University, where I earned my Master's Degree in Social Work.

With nearly two decades of experience, I specialize in men's mental health, anger issues, and substance misuse. I also focus on helping women manage the delicate balance between mental health, career, and family. My clinical expertise really shines when working with newcomers to therapy — particularly those who might be skeptical or uncertain about how therapy can benefit them.

I believe that building a strong, trusting relationship is key. In my practice, I ensure a safe and confidential environment where you can speak freely, fostering trust in the process — allowing you to fully engage and benefit from evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My person-centered approach is also personalized to your specific needs and goals.

I know it can be tough to start — many worry about being judged. But here, you can expect a real partnership and open, honest communication. Together, we'll tackle challenges and explore all aspects of your life. It's hard work, but the rewards are worth it!
